During our weekend together, we will deeply explore:

  • Labor Doula scope of practice and ethics

  • The normal physiology of childbirth, particularly when it is undisturbed

  • The challenges that come with unnecessary interference in the birth process, as well as alternatives that are available

  • Cultivating the unique ability to hold space for birthing women and they navigate the birth journey

  • Hands-on practice of comfort measures and labor support techniques

  • Supporting VBAC and Cesarean births

  • Informative and confidence-inspiring prenatal and postpartum visits

  • Teaching communication and self-advocacy

  • Helping the new mother breastfeed in the crucial first hour after birth

  • Supporting your clients and yourself through unexpected events

  • Working effectively with other care providers in both the midwifery and medical models

  • Marketing yourself with confidence and get guidance on establishing prices
